My family and I spent our Spring Break vacation on the beautiful island of Maui, visiting family and playing in the ocean.
Before heading out on this trip I made sure to pack the perfect knitting project, something that was relatively small and easy to carry on the plane and to the beach, and also simple and relaxing to knit. I picked the The Beach Tank by Jess Schreibstein , not only did this project fit the criteria but it would also be great to wear on the beaches of Maui!
I chose to knit this tank with Spincycle Dyed in the Wool yarn in the color Mississippi Marsala and Cestari Yarn Ash Lawn (a wool-cotton blend). Knitting with these yarns was a dream (especially when knitting ON the beach), easy on the hands and they created a beautiful fabric. People might think "Wool for a beach tank?" but this blend of wool and cotton made for a nice and breathable fabric the wears well.
The Beach Tank knit up quickly (large gauge and simple pattern) and I was able to wear it for a couple of days on Maui before we flew back home to the mainland.
If you are looking for a great travel project or a simple and comfy tank to wear this Summer I highly recommend this pattern. It's also a great pick for the Tops, Tanks & Tees KAL that Shannon Cook is hosting right now!
