  • Tag Team Sweater Project: Wrap up

My Lila has been off the needles for awhile now but Karen and I decided to wait and photograph both of our Tag Team Sweaters when we saw each other again at TNNA.  Bristol Ivy was kind enough to do our photo shoot and unfortunately my hair and makeup person did not show again (HA!).

As soon as Carrie Bostick Hoge released Lila I knew I wanted to knit it.  I liked the clean and simple design, it's kind of like your favorite sweatshirt, and really wanted to work with the beautiful Swans Island yarn.  I wasn't sure what size to choose, I am a 33" bust but preferred the look of the sweater when it was worn with more positive ease.   I decided on a size 35.  The sweater fits fine but if I do it again I will go up in a size so it will fit a little looser.  I would also do the garter hem flat and then join in the round once I got to the stockinette in order to avoid the jog in the garter (although it doesn't bother me much anymore.).  Karen did a lovely job on the sleeves and added a little length for my long arms (Thank you, Karen!).  The Swans Island yarn did not disappoint, it is both wonderful to work with as well as to wear.

I do enjoy wearing my Lila and it came in handy at TNNA since the wind in Indianapolis was a bit chilly and I forgot to pack a jacket.  You can read more about Karen's sweater on her blog, Fringe Association.
