Spring is here and we're ready for color!

We are so happy to have received more Dye Plant Seeds from Bedhead Fibers, just in time for gardening.  These plants are great for pollinators as well as natural dyers!  Scabiosa, zinnia, calendula, madder, bachelor button and indigo are all available in our Carnation shop and online.

If you would like to learn more about natural dyeing we highly recommend The Modern Natural Dyer by Kristine Vejar.  Also, the new Making Magazine Issue No. 5 / Color features a natural dye project by Kristine as well as an article about natural dyeing by Julia Billings.

We are big fans of our own local dye plant grower and dyer, Local Color Fiber Studio.  Local Color Fiber Studio is based on Bainbridge Island, WA and they naturally dye our very own Snoqualmie Valley Yarn and Oregon Rambouillet yarn.  These yarns dye up beautifully!  You can purchase these dyed yarns in our online or brick and mortar shop or pick up a few un-dyed skeins and dye them yourself.

Ranch 01 by Brooklyn Tweed was released last Friday and we are in love with this soft and squishy yarn and all of the gorgeous naturally dyed colors.  This is a limited run so get your hands on them here before they are all gone.
