  • One Skein Holiday Project - Lisa Engle

    Meet Tolt staffer, Lisa Engle.

Lisa Engle has been crafting and knitting since childhood. The women in her family were very resourceful and fostered within her a certain fascination for making something really meaningful using limited means with lots of love sprinkled in.

She and her husband, Scott, raised their family here in Carnation and have lived on the Tolt river for the last 37 years.

For her One Skein Holiday Project challenge, Lisa chose the Mary Jane Slippers by Kat Lewinski using Cascade yarns Superwash 128 (color 893 Ruby).

  • One Skein Holiday Project - Hope Penny

    Meet Tolt staffer, Hope Penny.

Hope describes herself as a Canadian Maritimer, mum, “Tinker”, gardener, Hooker (think rugs), baker and firm believer of all things in moderation…except yarn and smiling (and friends!!)

For Hope's One Skein Holiday Project challenge she chose to make Tom's Crossed Cowl by Melissa Beach using Cascade Yarns Eco Duo (color 1705).  With the left over yarn she decided to make some wrist warmers using her own simple pattern.  Hope casted-on 30 stitches on a US 9 circular needle (32") and joined in the round.  Using the Magic Loop method, she knitted approximately 8" before binding off.  Hope then found some scrap Malabrigo Worsted yarn and crocheted some lovely edges onto the wrist warmers and then sewed on some shell buttons.

  • One Skein Holiday Project - Tara Melendez

    Meet Tolt staffer, Tara Melendez.

Tara and her lovely family live in Duvall and she enjoys spending her free time knitting socks.  For her One Skein Holiday Project challenge, Tara chose to knit the Maize Mittens by Tin Can Knits using Malabrigo Rios (color 128).
