Virtual Cables

Ready to add texture, warmth, and some classic charm to your knits? It's time to learn to cable! In this class we will learn how to knit cables both with and without a cable needle. We will also cover working from a chart and written instructions, and decreasing in a cable pattern. Knit Tolt's newest pattern, the Switchback Hat or contact Rachel at rachelkieselburgdesigns@gmail.com if you have a pattern in mind.

Instructor: Rachel Kieselburg
Skill level: This class is appropriate for students totally new to cables and those that want to improve their skills and confidence. Confident beginner/intermediate knitters. Must know how to knit and purl in the round, and basic decreases.
Supplies: 240 yards DK weight yarn, US 3 needles 16 inch circular, US 5 needles 16 inch circular, US 5 double pointed needles, cable needle, stitch marker, tapestry needle, Switchback Hat by Tyler AndersonSkill level: This class is appropriate for students totally new to cables and those that want to improve their skills and confidence. Confident beginner/intermediate knitters. Must know how to knit and purl in the round, and basic decreases.
Homework: If you would like to begin your hat in the first class, please cast on and work ribbing before class. Alternately, you can choose to practice on swatches instead (recommended for those who are brand new to cabling). In that case, just have your yarn wound and materials ready for first class.
