Lopi is made from Icelandic sheep wool, which has two components to the wool, the long outercoat, tog, and the shorter, soft undercoat, thel. This creates an excellent yarn with loft and warmth, luster and incredible durability.
Istex sources its wool directly from the farmers in Iceland and then process it into yarn. The wool scouring is located in the town Blönduós in north of the country and the spinning mill in the town Mosfellsbaer nearby Reykjavik.
