Anna discovered Padraig Cottage Slippers over a decade ago when her eldest daughter started walking. She fell in love with their coziness and durability and their wonderful story.
Padraig Cottage was started over thirty years ago by Helen Long. At home with small children, she returned to her childhood love of wool, experienced while growing up on a hill sheep farm in Scotland. Not only was she influenced by her childhood, but also by the communities she lived with in the Northwest Territories.
Her first Slippers were made in 1977 for her young son, who wouldn't keep his shoes on. They had a hand cut sheepskin sole and a crocheted upper made with hand spun raw wool, this style eventually became the Original Padraig Slipper that we feature.
Padraig Cottage still makes their slippers in North Vancouver, British Columbia, employing more than thirty local artisans and support staff. They are hand crocheted in small lots, ensuring that each pair is one of a kind.
They are made in sizes for the whole family to experience their luxurious coziness!
