Longwools have been used throughout time to create beautiful, lustrous yarns that highlight the beauty and sheen of the long-wool breeds. In this class, you’ll work with Gotland, Masham, and Superfine Kid Mohair, learning the best way to spin these fibers to take advantage of their natural characteristics while avoiding over-spun or coarse singles.
Pre-Requisite / Supplies: Students must bring their own wheel, be able to spin a consistent single, and be confident with fine-tuning their tensions and ratios. Students should bring at least three bobbins and some type of Kate (or their own ball winder if they prefer to ply from a center-pull ball, but this technique will not be taught as part of Intermediate classes).
