Join Visiting Designer, Jenn Steingass, as we practice the knitting process used in a top down lopapeysa sweater while knitting a colorwork swatch in the round with Icelandic wool. By kntting a lopapeysa from the top down, we can more easily adjust the length of the yoke, sleeves and body as we knit and also avoid having to graft the armholes. Using Jenn's favorite invisible increase, you'll get a feel for how the yoke is shaped as you knit your swatch while following a top down chart. We'll go over color dominance, color theory and contrast for optimal color combinations and talk about the role of short row shaping and choosing a size that flatters your body.
Materials Needed: Needles: US6 32" circular, Notions: Scissors and Tapestry Needle, Yarn: Provided in class.
